Interim UFC champ Max Holloway will be making his acting debut soon.
Max Holloway, who has been nursing an ankle injury as of late, recently announced that he has landed a movie role and will be making his acting debut soon. The interim UFC champ will play a bank robber on a heist film that will feature some big names from Hollywood.
“I just got a deal, the movie name is Den of Thieves,” Holloway told Fox Sports 1’s Andy Nesbitt. “The three main guys are 50 Cent, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Gerard Butler.
“Next week is my first shoot. I’ll be out there for 1 week, then in March to April, I will be gone for one month shooting for them. We’ll be in Atlanta,” he said. “This is my first acting job. I’m nervous. I’m excited. I’m a small little Hawaiian boy, and English isn’t really my strength, but I’m excited and can’t wait for the opportunity.”
Den of Thieves is a heist action thriller that is written and directed by Christian Gudegast. Butler will play the lead role, and the plot for the film is as follows:
“Every day, $120 million in cash is taken out of circulation and destroyed by the Federal Reserve. An elite crew of bank robbers sets out to pull off the ultimate heist and get to the money first, right under the noses of Los Angeles’ most feared division of law enforcement.”
According to Holloway, he plans on competing after filming concludes, and plans on facing off against Jose Aldo to unify the UFC featherweight belts.
“I’ll be shooting for 1 month, and we’ll figure out (when the UFC return is),” he said. “First thing’s first, we have to find that guy first. Go back to #WheresJoseWaldo, and let your boy know if you find him. He took a long time to pop up, so I took this movie deal.”
