Floyd Mayweather may have just hinted at a rematch with Conor McGregor right after Saturday night’s UFC 246 main event fight.

In 2017, Conor McGregor brought himself further into mainstream recognition when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a crossover boxing match. The bout ended as expected by many when “The Notorious” was stopped via TKO in the tenth round.

The idea of a rematch floated around after, but quickly died down when McGregor’s stock took a hit at 2018 when he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov. But after an impressive 40-second stoppage win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on Saturday, even Floyd Jr. took notice.

The undefeated boxer hinted at a possible rematch this year through a recent Instagram post.

A later tweet by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto confirmed that Mayweather had been in touch with UFC president Dana White right after the fight.

Shortly after, however, Mayweather also dropped a poster of a possible fight against undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

White was asked about it during the presser, adding it could be problematic because McGregor is “so much in demand again.” The UFC exec didn’t divulge any more details in his response, but did note that he is talking to Mayweather.

“Was Conor out of demand?” White asked. “These are great problems to have. I’ll deal with them.”

“Floyd and I have been talking tonight,” White said. “We’re doing something with Floyd. There’s so much going on, but Floyd is in our plans and we are in Floyd’s plans this year. We’ll end up doing something.”

In November, Mayweather announced he was coming out of retirement once again to collaborate with White in a “spectacular event” sometime in the year. He also mentioned a possible matchup with a UFC fighter.
