Conor McGregor reacted to TJ Dillashaw’s failed USADA drug test.
News recently broke that TJ Dillashaw failed a drug test from his last bout and has been suspended a year by the NYSAC. The now former bantamweight champion has also relinquished his belt as the result of the failed test.
Former two-division champion Conor McGregor took to social media to react to the news, once again repeating the now infamous term he once coined for Dillashaw.
I called that little snake way back.
I’m the new St. Patrick.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) March 21, 2019
McGregor called Dillashaw a “snake in the grass” years ago, when he coached The Ultimate Fighter against Urijah Faber. The term became immensely popular, especially after their very public split with Team Alpha Male, that even Dillashaw himself started using snakes as part of his branding and marketing.
The substance Dillashaw tested positive for has yet to be revealed, but according to USADA, he failed an in competition test conducted in January 18, 2019.
The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) suspended Dillashaw for one year and fined him $10,000, but Dillashaw is still facing possible additional sanctions from USADA once they complete their full investigation.
