Former two-division UFC champ Conor McGregor may have not fought in a while, but he’s never really out of the news cycle. Whether it’s getting arrested in Miami, or offering support to fellow elite lightweight Tony Ferguson, or whatever else, The Notorious One is a pro at being the center of attention.

And this weekend, he took his act to Chicago and Boston.

First, he showed up as a guest of honor at The Windy City’s St Patrick’s Day parade. Then it was off to the east coast.

McGregor was front and center at a Boston Bruins game on Saturday night, going into the dressing room to give a motivational speech to the players, and then dropping the puck for the ceremonial face-off. He then busted out some Proper Twelve for the boys after a big win. His crew captured video of the speech, and him having a great time rinkside, and he posted it on his Instagram:

Watching the 5’9, 170-pound McGregor telling 6’9, 255-pound Bruins captain Zdeno Chara to “put him through the net” was particularly amusing:

I have to admit, McGregor’s enthusiasm through all of this is pretty infectious. And to add to the hilarity, one of the NHL’s most controversial figures, Brad Marchand, busted out a little bit of the McGregor strut after he scored the game-winning goal in overtime:

The next day, it was onto Boston’s version of the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Southie. And Conor was certainly a guest of honor.

There’s no other figure in sports quite like McGregor, and it’s great to see him using his notoriety in positive ways like this.
