Just because Conor McGregor has dedicated majority of his time in assisting Ireland in beating the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t mean the former UFC champion still can’t talk trash.

McGregor, who has been financially and socially aiding Ireland’s quarantine efforts over the past month, wasted little time taking a shot at Tony Ferguson earlier today when “El Cucuy” unofficially made weight for UFC 249. Remember, UFC 249 was cancelled just over one week ago, but Ferguson still wanted to make championship weight to prove a point.

As promised, Ferguson stepped on the scale earlier today and weighed in at 155 pounds for his cancelled UFC 249 main event title fight. He would have needed to hit this mark whether he was taking on current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov or perennial contender Justin Gaethje for the interim strap.

At first, McGregor congratulated Ferguson for making weight for an event that doesn’t exist before demanding that an opponent step on the scale next.

“Congrats on an excellent victory @TonyFergusonXT!! Now let’s have the other guy on the scale please,” wrote McGregor via Twitter.

Just four minutes later McGregor posted an image of a thinned-out Ferguson on the scale and delivered a scathing message about a future clash with “El Cucuy,”

“Hahahahah. You will be beat to the absolute nucleus pulposus when I get you, kid,” wrote McGregor via Twitter.

For those of you who didn’t have time to plug “nucleus pulposus” into Google search it is the “inner core of the vertebral disc.” It’s an odd and fairly graphic approach to trashtalk to say the least, but this is Conor McGregor we’re talking about. The Irish superstar has been marching to the beat of his own drum for years and certainly isn’t going to stop now.

Let’s hope for Tony’s sake McGregor never actually beats him to his “nucleus pulposus.” Seems like the result would be pretty bloody.

Ferguson may look a little crazy for cutting weight for a fight that wasn’t going to happen, but “El Cucuy” wanted to prove that he’s the real king at 155 pounds. The only problem is that Ferguson may have to cut weight again in just a few weeks if the stacked May 9th card actually takes place.

As for McGregor, he’ll likely have to capture another Octagon win this summer to get his hands on a late-2020 lightweight title shot. At that time, Ferguson may have beaten Gaethje, ended Khabib’s title reign, and ready to see if “Notorious” can live up to his own words.
