Conor McGregor made his presence known earlier tonight (Sat., July 27, 2019) when he commented on the refereeing for the UFC 240 card in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion took to Twitter to discuss an illegal knee call during Gavin Tucker’s featherweight bout with Seung Woo Choi on the UFC 240 “Prelims” card. McGregor didn’t agree with what referee Marc Goddard did after Tucker struck Choi with an illegal knee.
You check on the fighter that was illegally kneed to the head on the ground. Not get into a game of trying to prove the knee was legal with the fighter who committed the assault.

“You check on the fighter that was illegally kneed to the head on the ground,” wrote McGregor via Twitter. “Not get into a game of trying to prove the knee was legal with the fighter who committed the assault.”
Tucker eventually won the fight via third-round submission. Check out the highlights HERE.
This isn’t the first time McGregor has dished it out to Goddard. Back in 2017, McGregor called Goddard a “rat” after an in-cage altercation at Bellator 187. Goddard kept his cool and issued a statement in which he said he “operates with integrity.”
In addition to his insight on Goddard’s actions at UFC 240, McGregor couldn’t help but take aim at arch rival and current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The two have been entangled in an all-out feud for what seems a lifetime and finally locked horns last October. McGregor was the one to fall, but still presses on in hopes of a title rematch with the undefeated “Eagle.”
Herb should have checked on Khabibs eyeball after I kneed it full wack from bottom as well. I used the mount defense leg as a spring board right into the eye socket. But I was to crafty with it and got away Scotty.
I call it the big poppa pump into the eyeball. And your brothers— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 28, 2019

The Irishman even took a shot at Khabib’s wrestling from their UFC 229 matchup.
Herb my man he’s tryna sniff my jock strap here it’s fucking round 1. Stand this shit up.
Pussy fighter. Panic panic.
We all saw you panic shit yourself on the back of that bus.
Riddled in panic.
I might actually be the Riddler instead. pic.twitter.com/6jmNg6sR4F— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 28, 2019

It’s been a while since McGregor chimed in on some UFC action and maybe even longer since he went in on Khabib. Both are welcoming for fight fans looking for some extra spice on Fight Night, but we’d all rather see McGregor return to the Ocatgon instead of hitting the keyboard.
By the way, UFC 240 is still going on and will feature a main event title fight between featherweight champion Max Holloway and perennial contender Frankie Edgar. Find out how to watch it HERE.
