Conor McGregor was in full troll mode earlier today (Sat., Nov. 9, 2019) after witnessing Abubakar Nurmagomedov, cousin of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, get choked out in his Octagon debut against David Zawada at UFC Fight Night 163 live on ESPN+ from inside CSKA Arena in Moscow, Russia.
The impressive first-round submission finish by Zawada can be seen HERE.
Nurmagomedov, who has been crushing it under the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and Professional Fighters League (PFL) banners since 2015, was a massive 3:1 favorite entering his UFC debut and was expected to take the welterweight division by storm upon arrival. Unfortunately for the Dagestani fighter, who secured an early takedown into this fight to make Khabib proud, Zawada was able to channel his inner grappler and secure a timely submission finish off his back.
After the fight, McGregor quickly took to Twitter to taunt Nurmagomedov and take another shot at the Eagles MMA team (all tweets have since been deleted).
“Nurmagotaptap,” began McGregor.
“Hahahah shitebags,” continued the former UFC champion.
“He tapped his forehead,” explained McGregor. “If you can tap his forehead. You can punch his forehead. He quit.
“1 quitter exposed. Abubakar Nurmagotaptap. Forever a failure.”
“A 5 second triangle hahahah,” said “Notorious.”
“Console him. Then tell him he’s cut,” concluded McGregor.
Remember, McGregor was submitted himself by Khabib back at UFC 229 in October 2018 to lose his bid to reclaim the UFC’s lightweight championship. That is the last time fight fans have seen “Notorious” compete inside of the cage. The Irish superstar has been gearing up for a return to action early next year, but has been bogged down over the past few months with numerous out-of-cage issues.
What say you, Maniacs? Was McGregor out of line to taunt Abubakar Nurmagomedov after his UFC Moscow loss?
