Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler is officially headed to Dublin, Ireland.

Don’t panic! The fight itself is still expected to take place at UFC 303 on June 29 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, but now the two fighters will travel to McGregor’s home county this June for a special pre-fight press conference.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the news on Friday, confirming the special event will take place on June 3 from inside 3 Arena in Dublin. Check out White’s official announcement in the above video player.

McGregor, who hasn’t fought inside of the Octagon since a leg-breaking loss to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021, is looking to make the biggest comeback in UFC history at UFC 303. Despite his long hiatus from action, the Hollywood star remains the best pay-per-view (PPV) draw in all of combat sports. It only makes sense for UFC to milk the cow, host an event in Ireland, and create even more buzz for the return of “Notorious.”

Unfortunately for Chandler, he’s going to be entering enemy territory on June 3. Remember, the last time the promotion hosted a pre-fight press conference in Ireland for a McGregor UFC fight the superstar stole Jose Aldo’s UFC featherweight title on stage and nearly incited a riot. Fight fans can only imagine what will happen this time around, but McGregor is expected to tone things down for the time being.
