Rising Canadian prospect Hakeem Dawodu will make his return to the Octagon at UFC 231 on Dec. 8 from inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, against battle-tested featherweight Kyle Bochniak, per a recent promotional announcement (FloCombat was first to report the booking).
Dawodu, 27, recovered from a botched Octagon debut back in March to capture a unanimous decision win over Austin Arnett this past July at UFC on FOX 30. The talented featherweight prospect is as dangerous as they come on the feet and looked extremely patient in his last appearance. Fighting in front of a Canadian home crowd should allow “Mean” to showcase even more of his tricks as he matches up against one of the most game opponents at 145 pounds.
Bochniak, 31, is coming off a hard-fought loss to undefeated Russian sensation Zabit Magomedsharipov back at UFC 223 in Brooklyn. The hard-nosed Massachusetts native will certainly test the toughness of Dawodu while trying to showcase his own evolution coming off a Fight of the Night performance. A victory for Bochniak at UFC 231 would push his promotional record to 3-3 since his inception two years ago.
UFC 231 will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champion Max Holloway and undefeated contender Brian Ortega.
