Two of the best female featherweight strikers will collide at UFC 243 on Oct. 5 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, as former Invicta FC champion Megan Anderson returns to action against Octagon newcomer Zarah Fairn dos Santos, per a recent report by MMA Junkie.
Anderson, 29, is coming off a rough submission loss to rising contender Felicia Spencer back in May. The towering Aussie had captured a TKO win over Cat Zingano prior to that defeat but still remains just 1-2 in her UFC career. A striker-friendly matchup on home soil is exactly what the doctor ordered so Anderson must take full advantage if she wants to re-enter the title discussion at 145 pounds.
Dos Santos, 32, will become the first French female athlete to compete inside of the Octagon when she makes her debut this October. The talented striker hasn’t fought professionally since a TKO win back in 2017, but remains a very dangerous opponent for Anderson. After all, dos Santos is 6-2 in her career with four individually impressive knockout finishes. She should let the gloves fly upon arrival and give Anderson a true run for her money.
UFC 243 will be headlined by a middleweight title unification bout between current champion Robert Whittaker and interim king Israel Adesanya.
