Michael Chandler just completed his last fight with Bellator in the best way possible.
Michael Chandler completed his Bellator contract and is heading into free agency in the best possible way. The 34-year-old scored an impressive knockout over Benson Henderson, ending the former UFC champ’s winning streak, and stopping him for the first time in six years.
After UFC 252 ended, Dana White did field a question about the three-time Bellator lightweight champion, saying he’s “earned” a shot in the UFC.
“They said, I didn’t know this, but they told me that he said he wanted to meet,” White said at the UFC 252 post-event press conference (via MMA Mania). “And I said I’d love to meet with him. That guy has earned it and yeah, would love to talk to him.”
Chandler has been a long term staple with Bellator, and had three stints as the promotion’s lightweight champion. The veteran is 21-5 in his career, and has wins over many talented opponents, including former UFC titleholders Eddie Alvarez and Benson Henderson (twice).
