Bellator will be without one of its most exciting fighters at its big event this week.

Michael Page is injured and had to pull out of his bout against Curtis Millender at Bellator 134 on Friday at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, according to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. Brennan Ward will take his place in the main card opener. Though Ward is a former Bellator middleweight contender, this fight will take place at welterweight, Bellator official told MMAFighting.com.

Page (7-0) has won both of his fights in Bellator. His stand-up style has made him a growing star for the organization. Millender (7-0), an up-and-coming lightweight from California, was set to be his toughest test to date.

Ward (9-3) has lost two straight and is coming off a knockout defeat in just 21 seconds to Tamdan McCrory at Bellator 123 last September.

Bellator 134, which has been dubbed “The British Invasion,” is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Emanuel Newton and Liam McGeary. British KO artist Paul Daley meets Andre Santos in the co-main event. A heavyweight feature fight between Muhammed Lawal and Cheick Kongo will also be on the main card.
