Injuries to Rousimar Palhares and Chris Camozzi have scrapped both middleweights from their UFC 150 bouts against Yushin Okami and Buddy Roberts, respectively. So in response, Okami and Roberts will now face each other on August 11th in Denver, Colorado, and the event will proceed with 10 fights.
UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II is expected to take place on August 11, 2012 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Okami will look for a victory in Denver after losing two straight. He was TKO’d by Tim Boetsch at UFC 144 in Japan, after having ‘The Barbarian’ on the ropes for the first two rounds. Before that, ‘Thunder’ stepped in versus Anderson Silva at UFC 134 for the middleweight title, only to find himself on the losing end having been finished by TKO in the second round. Okami earned his last win in November 2010 with a decision victory versus Nate Marquardt at UFC 122.
Roberts debuted with the UFC just last month versus fellow newcomer Caia Magalhaes at the UFC on FX 3 event. Roberts would win by decision, extending his win streak to six. The Jackson’s MMA product had fought at light heavyweight in his last fight before joining the UFC, earning a decision versus Tony Lopez in New Mexico.
