Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

The Welterweight division is a mess. There’s a very obvious title match up to be made in Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington, yet it seems the UFC is “exploring other options.” As a result of this announcement, Jorge Masvidal emerged as the new most likely option, prompting Covington to make headlines and keep his name in the mix by badmouthing his best buddy on Twitter.

There’s one more option at 170 lbs., and despite his incredible eight-fight win streak, it’s probably not Leon Edwards. Nate Diaz may not be in the theoretical “big picture,” but he’s likely the biggest star in the Welterweight division currently and is coming off a significant victory.

The younger Diaz brother seemingly just called his shot on Twitter:

It’s possible that Diaz is still referring to his personal “baddest m*****f****** in the game” title, but that was a planned bout with Jorge Masvidal. If Diaz is still fighting Masvidal, who’s fighting for the belt in November?

Hopefully, we have fewer rumors and more fight announcements in the coming days to clear it all up.
