Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Most people wouldn’t consider it advisable to prank a 255-lb. cage fighter. Don’t get me wrong- Francis Ngannou seems like a gentle giant outside the Octagon. Still, if you’ve seen him fight, your first impulse probably wouldn’t be to mess with him.

Daniel Cormier is not most people. The UFC light heavyweight champion is set to co-headline UFC 220, under Ngannou’s title fight with Stipe Miocic. That’s how he found himself in a car with Ngannou, who fell asleep. Cormier took the opportunity for one of his signature pranks- but even Cormier said he got a little nervous.

Tim Elliot isn’t getting his win bonus because he declined to fight an opponent who missed weight. Win bonuses are just a way for the UFC to take advantage of optimistic fighters in contract negotiations.
