Midnight Mania! Daniel Cormier’s UFC 210 towel trick exposed, Liddell and Couture spar

Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight …

Welcome to Midnight Mania! Tonight, we’ve got Roan Carneiro showing off Cormier’s last minute weight loss program, Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture in the gym long after their epic rivalry a la Rocky-Apollo, Robbie Lawler sparring at Henri Hooft’s new gym, John Kavanagh talking McGregor vs. Mayweather, knockouts, podcasts and much more.

I Am Number Four

Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture had one of the most memorable trilogies in early mixed martial arts (MMA) history, with “Iceman” taking two out of three. Now, the UFC legends are going at it a fourth time in training … albeit not with the intent to hurt each other. Via BloodyElbow.com:

Roan Carneiro explains and demonstrates how Daniel Cormier lost that last pound and change at UFC 210’s controversial weigh ins. It’s perfectly feasible, as you can see, despite Cormier’s bold-faced denial. Even though he is now retired, Anthony Johnson’s team wants 20 percent of Cormier’s purse for the shenanigans, which saved Cormier’s right to defend his Light Heavyweight belt.

Say what you will, but the trick worked for Cormier. Now, we just await the return of Cialis Boy.

Bobs and Weaves

Henri Hooft may have been the trainer for American Top Team rivals the Blackzilians, but it appears Robbie Lawler is now training under him at his new gym. Lawler is scheduled to fight Donald Cerrone on July 8, 2017, at UFC 213.

Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, says that the boxing match between McGregor and Mayweather is on, riffing about the Irishman’s desire to take on outsized challenges.

Bellator MMA plans on snapping up top Middleweights while UFC and Michael Bisping mess around with “super fights.”

Just spoke to Bellator MMA president Scott Coker who told me if Gegard Mousasi and Jacare Souza become free, they will speak to them both.
