Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Every time the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier feud seems to hit an all-time low, it somehow manages to get worse, as shockingly a second consecutive loss did not make the Irishman more amiable. McGregor’s denial in his immediate post-fight interview was captured by Joe Rogan and the UFC broadcast, but it’s become apparent those angry words were merely the tip of the iceberg.

In a clip that has quickly spread around Twitter, some of McGregor’s shouting is discernible. The exact words may be up for interpretation, but it’s very clear that he’s threatening Dustin Poirier. For my money, it’s the finger gun to the head and “in your sleep!” yells are also rather clear.

There’s some debate as to whether or not McGregor actually says “you and your Mrs.,’ but it sounds reasonably clear to me, and it certainly fits with all of the other trash talk “Notorious” sent in the direction of Jolie Poirier.

Take a listen for yourself:

Again, the specifics remain unclear, but the general message is definite. Below is Poirier himself confirming McGregor’s post-fight actions:

At the post-fight press conference, Poirier remarked (via MMAFighting), “Conor said some nasty stuff that didn’t make it on Embedded, and maybe when this behind the scenes for this fight airs you’ll see him on the ground still saying some real bad stuff. But even that stuff being said, I don’t wish serious harm like that on nobody.”

On the whole, it’s further evidence that McGregor has fallen off the deep end. Oddly enough, his threats are also something of a self-own — McGregor needs his opponent to be asleep in order to do anything!

Insomnia

McGregor is definitely a proponent of the “If you ain’t cheatin’, you ain’t tryin’” mindset.

I don’t know if this is true, but it appears that Cody Garbrandt vs. Kai Kara France is next at 125 lbs.

No matter what happens in the Heavyweight division regarding the interim and undisputed belt, Derrick Lewis is the people’s champ.

Kris Moutinho didn’t get the win, but he lived up to his words!

Bobby Green vs. Rafael Fiziev is a killer Lightweight match up, if not necessarily a step up for Fiziev.

Rafael dos Anjos got paid to be the back up for UFC 264’s main event and then soaked in the outcome. Big win for “RDA!”

Slips, rips, and KO clips

A very well-timed knee as Ekimov closed the distance:

Forehead > elbow … Apparently!

Every time a fighter taunts, this is what they’re hoping will happen!
