During her recent sit-down interview with Megan Olivi for the UFC Fight Pass original series, “The Exchange,” UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate addressed some rumors she has heard regarding former champion and her biggest career rival, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.
Tate explained to Olivi in the interview, which is available right now on the UFC Fight Pass service, that she has heard rumors regarding Rousey apparently telling people that she’s only interested in coming back to fight Tate, and no one else, because she “knows she can beat her.”
Tate told Olivi the following on the newest episode of “The Exchange”:
“Some people have been saying that she’s said, ‘I’ll come back for one fight against Miesha Tate because I know that I can beat her, and then I’m retiring. That she doesn’t want to fight Holly (Holm). I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I have heard that. If it is true, I find it disrespectful. Do I think she’ll come back the same? Something tells me no. I think that’s just my take on the interviews I’ve seen her do. I feel like she’s somewhere else other than fighting. I don’t feel like this is her No. 1 drive anymore.”
Tate makes her Octagon return and the first defense of her UFC Women’s 145-pound title against Amanda Nunes in one of the co-main events scheduled for the landmark UFC 200 event next month.
UFC 200 is scheduled to go down live on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
