Former UFC female bantamweight champion Miesha Tate had about 12 hours to think about her UFC 200 loss to Amanda Nunes before she decided to take to social media.
Like she said during the post-fight press conference, Tate plans to take some time to “regroup” and refocus her energy on winning back the title. Earlier this year, the former Strikeforce champion bested Holly Holm via submission in the fifth round, but she fell to Nunes by submission in the first in her first title defense.
“The fight didn’t go as I had planned, Amanda is such a strong and amazing fighter and congratulations to her,” Tate wrote. “Thank you to my loyal supporters, it’s nice to have love in victory but it means more in defeat.
“The past is a place of reference not a place of residence for me and a loss is a learn. I’m going to take some time to regroup, thank you all.”
