Their showdown was determined in the championship rounds, with Holm likely holding a slight edge on the judges’ scorecards if she could last the full 25 minutes. Tate would not allow her, though, sinking in a rear-naked choke and finishing Holm with just 90 seconds remaining to claim her first-ever UFC title.

It was an incredible comeback, one worth looking back on to see — and hear — what was going through the minds of each fighter in the video above.

It will be interesting to see if “The Preacher’s Daughter” can get a rematch at UFC 200 — as requested — which depends on the pending return of former 135-pound queenpin “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, who is currently doing work in Tinseltown.
