A welterweight bout was announced for the upcoming UFC 133 event in August, featuring Mike ‘Quicksand’ Pyle (21-7-1) and Rory ‘The Water Boy’ MacDonald (11-1).
UFC President Dana White announced today that the City of Brotherly Love will get another dose of high-impact welterweight action on August 6th with a veteran vs. prospect meeting.
“Welterweight standouts Mike ‘Quicksand’ Pyle and Rory ‘The Water Boy’ MacDonald have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 133 in Philadelphia,” said White.

Pyle has won three straight in the Octagon and holds a record of 4-2 in the UFC. His last fight was in March against Ricardo Almeida at UFC 128. ‘Quicksand’ earned a unanimous decision at the New Jersey event, the second such win for the welterweight who defeated John Hathaway at UFC 120 by decision also.
MacDonald rebounded from his first career loss to Carlos Condit at UFC 115, by defeating Nate Diaz by unanimous decision at UFC 129. So far the ‘Waterboy’ is 2-1 in the UFC with a first round submission win over Mike Guymon in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 20.
