Following a year and a half long layoff, welterweight star Mike “Quick” Swick will return to the Octagon in search of his 10th UFC win when he takes on highly touted newcomer Erick Silva at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27th.

UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami is being held on August 27th at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both men will likely meet on the preliminary card of the event and could be featured on a prelim broadcast such as Spike TV or Facebook.

Swick has been dealing with a stomach condition that has hampered his performance for awhile. He appears to have that issue licked and will look for his first win since June 2009. After a five fight win streak, ‘Quick’ lost a No. 1 contender bout to Dan Hardy by unanimous decision and was then choked unconscious by Paulo Thiago at UFC 109.

Swick meets a tough Brazilian fighter who has gone undefeated in nine straight fights. The Jungle Fight prospect has won three straight, including a one night tournament for the Jungle Fight welterweight title. Seven of his twelve victories have come by submission, while two have come by knockout.
