The long awaited return of UFC welterweight Mike ‘Quick’ Swick (14-4) has finally been announced as one first competitors from season one of “The Ultimate Fighter” is set to meet DaMarques ‘Darkness’ Johnson (16-10) at this August’s upcoming UFC on FOX 4 event.
Fan favorite Mike “Quick” Swick, who’s battled a barrage of illnesses and injuries, will make his UFC return after more than two years against fellow welterweight and TUF alum DaMarques “Darkness” Johnson Saturday August 4 at the Staples Center.
UFC on Fox: Stann vs. Lombard (aka UFC on Fox 4) is expected to take place on August 4, 2012 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and features the UFC debut of former Bellator middleweight champ Hector Lombard, as he takes on Brian Stann in the main event.
Swick has had to deal with a stomach problems, which at one point limited his diet severely, and previous to has last scheduled appearance at UFC 134 was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. ‘Quick’ is currently 0-2 in his last two appearances after a four fight win streak. He was choked out by Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 and lost a decision to Dan Hardy at UFC 105 in a title eliminator match.
Johnson fought last month in Sweden, losing to John Maguire by second round armbar submission in a spirited bout at UFC on FUEL TV 2. The ‘Darkness’ has traded wins for losses over his last six matches, earning his most recent victory against Clay Harvison at UFC on FOX 1 by first round knockout.
