It’s one thing for athletes to get a tattoo after they become champions. It’s not every day that you see an athlete get inked after losing fairly quickly in a tournament.
Meet MMA fighter Poppies Martinez. He appeared in Bellator 104 against Brandon Girtz in October 2013, and it took Girtz all of 80 seconds to emerge victorious.
Despite losing in his only Bellator match, Martinez decided to get a Bellator tattoo on his neck.
Some may view it as weird to celebrate his appearance in the tournament by getting inked. However, it’s arguably one of the toughest tournaments in all of sports. Getting into the Bellator is quite the feat.
Martinez appears to be very proud of his accomplishment, and it’s hard to blame him for getting the tattoo done to honor it.
