Rory Markham, a former UFC welterweight, was arrested on Saturday for domestic battery charges.
This according to Matt Roth of MMAMania.com and the Cook County Sheriff’s records. His bail is currently set at $250,000.
It’s astonishing to see someone who used to compete at the pinnacle of MMA to have fallen so far. Cage Potato provides an interesting glimpse into the visible changes from Markham’s UFC tenure to what he looks like now.
It’s not the first run-in with the law for Markham this year. In March, Markham was arrested on a felony assault charge and was released on $10,000 bond.
As with all arrests, the full amount of information is almost never readily available, so the exact details are unclear as of now.
Hopefully Markham can get his issues worked out because it appears as though he has some anger issues to work through.
Markham sports a 16-6 record in MMA and although not officially retired, Markham hasn’t competed since a 2010 loss to Nate Diaz. The loss was Markham’s second consecutive loss by knockout as he had lost to Dan Hardy in his previous bout.
As can be seen on IMDB, Markham has been involved in a number of films during his post-fighting career.
