OK, so technically not a knockout, but hey it’s still a good beating that ends in knockout form. It also technically is marked as knockout, not a TKO.
So as you can tell by the title, this is a knockout from when Dan Hardy wasn’t Dan Hardy yet. This was Hardy’s fifth career bout and he held a 2-2 record going into this fight. Aaron Barrow held a 3-2 record and his last loss was three fights prior.
Instantly Hardy comes in and throws a high head kick that drops Barrow faster then a quarter falling from the top of the Empire State Building.
Immediately, Hardy presses on and starts throwing haymakers to a grounded Barrow, over, and over, and over again before the referee calls a stoppage to the fight just 13 seconds in.
Then Hardy celebrates the win like only Hardy does, like an animal. Personally, I would have celebrated a win like that the same way.
Now since this bout in 2004 we know what has happened to Hardy. Since this fight, Hardy has compiled a record of 20-7 with one no contest and fought Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight title last year. Right now, though, Hardy is on a three-fight losing streak with his most recent loss coming against Anthony Johnson at UFC Fight Night 24.
Barrow, on the other hand, hasn’t fought since a 2009 knockout loss to Anthony Grecian. Since this fight, Barrow has gone 2-9.
