MMA SQUARED: Dillashaw, Garbrandt, and Northcutt are all on ice, and Faber is coming back

The beach party just got a little less awesome, bro.

On the surface, Urijah Faber can return for one night to fight in his hometown. Faber is also one of the savviest vets in the game and has a very interesting opportunity because the 135lb landscape is wide open. TJ Dillashaw is on ice for the next two years. Cody Garbrandt is coming off his third consecutive loss via strikes, and Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes will fight to crown a new Bantamweight champ in just over thirty days. Both men are worthy champions, but neither are a household name (nor is Pedro Munhoz who is circling the title picture).

If the California Kid puts on a throwback performance (overhand right followed by guillotine finish “The Club n’ Sub”) he could steal a bit of the spotlight, make a couple headlines and find himself “in the mix” after Cejudo vs Moraes at UFC 238.

Take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
