Morning Report: After beating ‘deformed’ Dennis Siver, Conor McGregor wants to be there when UFC takes away Cub Swanson’s title shot

In Boston promoting his Jan. 18 headliner against Dennis Siver, UFC featherweight Conor McGregor didn’t waste much time getting right after his opponent.

Claiming to be walking around at 168 pounds, McGregor admitted he enjoys the size advantage to ‘bully’ his opponents.

“It makes it all that much sweeter,” McGregor said of his weight cut. “Especially when I’m going in against a 5-foot-5 overblown German that’s too small, too slow and too stocky. It makes all the sense. I like to bully these little people.”

Saying he can’t respect Siver after his nine-month suspension for testing positive for human chorionic gonadotropin, McGregor says he believes the drugs left his opponent disfigured.

“He’s muscular but he’s really small. He’s a weird looking, deformed looking guy. He was caught cheating at one stage in his career. He was on the steroids and he got banned for it so I think when you take some of the stuff like that your body becomes weird. You look weird, especially when you come off it. Even your head, I believe. So I think he’s a weird looking little German guy and I’m going to go in and whoop his ass in beautiful Boston City. ‘Ireland No. 2’ I like to call it.”

McGregor also had quite a bit to say about fellow contender Cub Swanson.

Despite being backed up by UFC president Dana White, McGregor dismisses Swanson’s claims that a win over Frankie Edgar Nov. 22 in Austin will secure his spot as the next challenger for Jose Aldo.

“I believe he’s been promised,” McGregor said of Swanson’s title hopes. “[UFC] looked him dead in the eye and said, ‘Cub, I promise you, beat this man and you have a title shot.’ They looked him dead in the eye, so even if he wins and they still don’t give him the title shot I want to be there when they tell him, ‘No, I’m sorry. Remember that promise we promised you where we looked you dead in the eyes? It was all lies.'”

Rousey Vs Cyborg = Women’s MMA Crutch & Heel

Every day I read some article speaking about how women’s MMA is on the up and up. How the talent is growing, and how people want to see Rhonda Rousey. The following article is about Rousey talking trash to Cyborg for roids, Cyborg saying she’ll be tested and they can do it at 140, and Rousey saying No. Rousey fighting some tin can. The following article is about who Rousey might fight next instead of Cyborg because of a weight class issue. The next article is about Rousey hating Cyborg again. This has been going on for months even a year or so. I’m tired of it. Women’s MMA is not growing and will not grow until the best fighters in women’s MMA finally faceoff. While I get that there is a reason for weight classes, women’s MMA is still juvenile in its growth. There is such a lack of competition in the weight classes, that Rouseys judo career is honestly more impressive.
