Narkun v Mysiala | KSW

The current longest-reigning KSW champion returns to the light heavyweight division in September.

The last remaining title fight for KSW 50 has been confirmed and will see light heavyweight champion, Tomasz Narkun (16-3), defend his belt for the fourth time when he squares off with TUF alumni, Przemyslaw ‘The Polish Bear’ Mysiala (23-9-1). Three other championship bouts will feature on the milestone show which emanates from Wembley Arena in London on Saturday, September 14th. The card is filled with some of KSW’s biggest names who have helped the company become one of, if not, the biggest promotion in Europe.

Narkun won the KSW light heavyweight title in October 2015 when he knocked out former UFC competitor, Goran Reljic, in the first round which also took place at Wembley Arena. He returns to the same venue around four years later looking to extend his winning streak in the light heavyweight division to six. Narkun hasn’t defended his title since May 2017 because he challenged and defeated Mamed Khalidov in two, catchweight super fights where he became the man to break the Polish MMA icon’s fifteen fight unbeaten streak. In his last outing, ‘The Giraffe’ (who has finished 15 of his 16 professional victories) moved up to heavyweight to try and become only the second man to simultaneously hold two titles in KSW but was unsuccessful as he dropped a unanimous decision to champion, Phil De Fries.

Mysiala is currently riding a six-fight winning streak where he has finished all of his victories by either strikes or submission. During that time, he took part in the TUF 28: Heavy Hitters season of the reality show at heavyweight, which is above his natural weight class. The London-based, Polish fighter lost in the opening round to Maurice Greene but rebounded on the regional scene last May. ‘The Polish Bear’ seems to be a perfect fit for KSW ahead of his promotional debut and has competed around the world in Bellator, ACB and BAMMA. He will need to give the performance of his career if he is to overcome Narkun and become the new king of the KSW light heavyweight division.

KSW 50 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight clash between defending champion, Phil De Fries, and fellow UFC veteran, Damian Grabowski. Roberto Soldic looks to retain his belt against KSW newcomer, Patrik Kincl, at welterweight and Norman Parke faces Marion Ziolkowski for the interim lightweight title.

The current KSW 50 card is:-

Heavyweight Title – Phil De Fries (c) v Damian Grabowski

Light Heavyweight Title – Tomasz Narkun (c) v Przemyslaw Mysiala

Welterweight Title – Roberto Soldic (c) v Patrik Kincl

Interim Lightweight Title – Norman Parke v Marion Ziolkowski

Middleweight – Damian Janikowski v Tony Giles

Middleweight – Antoni Chmielewski v Jason Radcliffe
