Nate_DiazFor breaking the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s code of conduct for fighters lightweight Nate Diaz has been fined $20,000 and suspended 90-days for an offensive Tweet he posted Thursday.

The promotion announced the suspension on Friday releasing a statement at UFC.com.

UFC lightweight Nate Diaz has received an immediate 90-day suspension and $20,000 fine for violating the UFC’s fighter code of conduct. The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated.

The money will be donated to charity.

Diaz posted a message on Thursday in response to the UFC’s decision to hold back $130,000 in bonus money to Pat Healy after the fighter tested positive for marijuana.

One of the bonuses, “Submission of the Night,” was instead awarded to Bryan Caraway who voiced his own disapproval for marijuana users.

Diaz Tweeted “I feel bad for Pat Healy that they took an innocent man’s money away and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest F-g in the world.”

The promotion does not pay out “Fight Night” bonuses till those fighters awarded with the extra payday pass the post fight drug test.
