Neil Magny had his seven-fight winning streak snapped by Demian Maia earlier this month, and wants to get back to the win column as soon as possible.
The UFC announced on Tuesday that Magny will replace injured Rick Story against Brazilian welterweight Erick Silva in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 74 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Aug. 23.
Riding the first winning streak of his UFC career, Silva (18-5, 1 no-contest) looks for his seventh victory inside the Octagon after scoring back-to-back first-round submissions over Josh Koscheck and Mike Rhodes in Brazil.
Magny (15-4) was coming off wins over the likes of Hyun Gyu Lim, Kiichi Kunimoto, Tim Means and Gasan Umalatov when he tapped to Maia at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro. Magny holds an 8-3 UFC record, and two of those losses came against Brazilian opponents.
UFC Fight Night 74 takes place at the SaskTel Centre and features a featherweight showdown between Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira in the main event.
