Damon Jackson is getting just nine days to prepare for his UFC debut.

“The Leech” got the call on Thursday to replace the injured Justin Edwards against Yancy Medeiros at UFC 177, which is scheduled for Aug. 30 in Sacramento, Calif. The promotion announced the news on Friday.

Jackson (9-0) defeated Leonard Garcia last month via first-round arm-triangle choke to become the Legacy FC featherweight champion. The 26-year-old former Bellator fighter has finished all nine of his opponents.

Medeiros (9-2, 1 NC) most recently lost via first-round submission to Jim Miller at UFC 172 in April.

The Medeiros-Jackson lightweight tilt will take place on the pay-per-view main card, which will be headlined by T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2 for the UFC bantamweight title.
