The revamped video trailer for the upcoming UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) card has officially dropped. It aired during Saturday’s broadcast of UFC Vegas 93 (follow along HERE).
The UFC team had a lot of work to do with just two weeks before UFC 303 goes down from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for International Fight Week, seeing as superstar Conor McGregor was just removed from the main event due to injury. “Notorious” was expected to make his return to action after three years off in a main event clash with fellow Ultimate Fighter coach, Michael Chandler.
All parties involved tried to keep the fight together, but McGregor wasn’t going to recover in time. UFC matchmakers had to act quickly and they did. Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira was called upon to step up on two weeks notice to defend his title in the main event against former opponent and UFC champion, Jiri Prochazka. Both fighters are coming off individual knockout wins at the historic UFC 300 card this past April and were likely headed towards a title rematch later this summer.
In addition to the main event shakeup, UFC 303 will now feature a co-main event clash between featherweight veteran Brian Ortega and streaking finisher Diego Lopes. Carlos Ulberg, who was originally expected to meet former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill in the co-headliner, is now booked to fight former title challenge Anthony Smith.
The updated UFC 303 trailer featuring all of these new matchups can be seen in the above video player. The original promo trailers featuring McGregor vs. Chandler can be seen HERE and HERE.
