Former ‘King of the Cage’ champion Tim ‘The Dirty Bird’ Means (16-3-1) is set to make his Octagon debut on short notice when he meets fellow newcomer Bernardo Magalhaes (11-1) at the upcoming UFC on FUEL 1 show this month in Nebraska.
The promotion added the bout to the official fight card this past week.
Magalhaes had been scheduled to face Yoislandy Izquierdo on the card, but Izquierdo was pulled due to contractual issues with a former promotion.
UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger (aka UFC on Fuel TV 1) is scheduled to take place on February 15, 2012 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska.
Means has won seven in a row and is undefeated in nine bouts. His most recent win took place last month with a 30-second finish of opponent Tye Brown at the KOTC – Total Destruction event. ‘The Dirty Bird’ has finished 12 opponents by (T)KO, 3 by submission and won once by decision, the only time he’s left it to the judges and it was a five round title match.
Magalhaes has fought exclusively in Australia over his pro-career, and enters the Octagon on a five fight win streak. He recently defending the Cage Fighting Championship title last June, earning a unanimous decision at the Australian event. Magalhaes has won twice by submission and nine times by decision in his career.
