Nick Newell has amassed an impressive 14-1 record competing under the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) banners, but has yet to earn the chance to test his skills against the best Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has to offer.

While many would assume his disability of only having on hand would prevent him from having any success inside the Octagon, Newell wants equality.

And he just may get it.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, UFC president Dana White met with Newell and his management team in Las Vegas and says he will give the Lightweight standout a clear-cut answer regarding his wish to fight for the promotion by tomorrow (Wed., April 25, 2018).

Now the waiting game begins.

Nick is currently riding a three fight win streak with his lone loss in his near-decade of fighting coming at the hands of Justin Gaethje back in 2014. The addition of Nick to UFC’s 155-pound weight class would be an interesting one to say the least, as the division has finally straightened itself out and boasts a number of top contenders ready and willing to vie for the strap.

That said, it’s going to be a long night for Newell, as his MMA prayers will be answered or rejected tomorrow morning.
