A middleweight bout looks set for Atlantic City this June as local fighter Nick ‘The Jersey Devil’ Catone (9-2) and Chris ‘Kamikaze’ Camozzi (16-5) appear set to square off at the upcoming UFC on FX 4 show.
News of the matchup was revealed by MMADieHards.com on Tuesday.
UFC on FX 4 is expected to take place on June 22, 2012 at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Catone is on a two fight win streak and is 3-2 overall in the Octagon. ‘The Jersey Devil’ earned a unanimous decision over Constantino Philippou in a 195-lbs catchweight bout one year ago at UFC 128. Catone has been plagued with injuries having to withdraw from a UFN 22 show in September 2010 and withdrawing from a UFC 136 bout last October due to an Achilles tendon tear.
Camozzi earned a win over Dustin Jacoby via third round submission this past January as part of the UFC on FOX 2 show. The win put’s ‘Kamikaze’ at 1-1 in his last two Octagon appearances since returning the UFC. Camozzi went 2-1 in his first stint with the UFC being released after a first round submission to Kyle Noke at UFC 127. He earned a split decision over Joey VillaseƱor at a Shark Fights 15 show and was brought back to the UFC.
