Jeremy Stephens and Jimmie Rivera went to war last night (Sat., Dec. 2, 2023) at BKFC 56 live on FITE.TV pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, but only one former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contender came out victorious.
Rivera was the quicker fighter in the early going, but as soon as he began to tire the momentum swung back in Stephens’ favor. “Lil Heathen” started to utilize his right hand to tag Rivera and bust him up pretty badly. Stephens did more work inside the clinch during round three that split Rivera’s eye wide open and knocked him to the canvas.
Before the fourth round began the ringside officials stepped in to take a look at Rivera’s left eye. Upon further review, the cut was too bad to let Rivera continue. Stephens walked away with the TKO win and his first victory as a bareknuckle boxer.
