Charles Oliveira’s quest to earn his eighth straight win will have to wait a little longer as the Brazilian bomber has been forced out of his fight against Beneil Dariush, which was verbally agreed upon to take place on Oct. 3, 2020 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The beans were spilled by Dariush himself after he posted a message to his Instagram account, though no details as to why exactly “Do Bronx” was forced out were given.

“After my fight with Scott Holtzman, the UFC offered me a fight with Charles Oliveira on Oct 3rd. I accepted and so did Charles,” said Darisuh. “I did not announce it because I was waiting on the UFC to announce it and I would follow. I been informed Charles is out of the fight. I am not sure on the details but I hope all is well with Charles.

“I am currently working with the UFC to figure out our next step. I will keep you all posted on the details. Finally, even though the fight did not come to fruition I want to thank the UFC, Sean Shelby, and my brother Ali Abdelaziz for setting this up.”

Dariush has also done pretty good for himself as of late, winning five straight including his aforementioned knockout (spinning back fist) win over a very tough Scott Holtzman. Now, all Beneil can do is wait to see who the promotion can get to sign on the dotted line on three weeks notice.

The event will see former women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm will make her return to the Octagon opposite No. 6-ranked title contender Irene Aldana in a title eliminator fight. In the co-main event, Glover Teixeira is expected to meet Thiago Santos after their fight — which was supposed to headline UFC Vegas 10 this Saturday night (Sept. 12, 2020) — was scratched last week.
