Sean O’Malley will be headlining the upcoming Noche UFC event at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the reigning UFC bantamweight champion feels like the promotion is focusing more on where the fight is taking place than who is actually fighting.

UFC’s upcoming debut at The Sphere has been very expensive to stage and highly-anticipated from fight fans everywhere. Some may be disappointed at the lack of depth for the Sept. 14th fight card, but the promotion is spending big money to put on the greatest live combat event of all time. If other aspects of the card take a back seat so UFC can actually stage a show at The Sphere then fight fans will have to deal with it.

However, O’Malley should not be taking a backseat to anything or anyone for his upcoming title defense against red-hot bantamweight contender Merab Dvalishvili. “Suga” is one of the most popular champions on the UFC roster today and easily one of the promotion’s biggest pay-per-view (PPV) draws. He should be promoted above everything else whenever he’s taking centerstage.

Unfortunately, O’Malley feels like he’s been slighted heading into his matchup with Dvalishvili at Noche UFC. Instead of pushing his main event title fight, O’Malley believes UFC is focusing more on the fact that the event is taking place inside The Sphere.

Can you blame him?

Check out O’Malley’s explanation below during a recent interview with Michael Bisping:

“A little annoyed-ish about the promotion of the ‘the sphere, the sphere, the show’. I’m the one doing interviews not the sphere, let’s promote Sean vs Merab, The Suga Show, I’m the one fighting”

What do you think, fight fans? Is UFC promoting O’Malley vs. Merab the wrong way or should they be more focused on pushing the narrative of The Sphere?

Sound off!
