O’Malley says Garbrandt is ‘running’ to ‘strawweight,’ both trade insults

Sean O’Malley and Cody Garbrandt continue to take shots at each other.

Sean O’Malley has a fight booked against Marlon Vera in less than two weeks, and Cody Garbrandt is said to be preparing for a drop to flyweight. So while they’re unlikely to fight each other anytime soon, it didn’t stop the two fighters from continuing to trade insults on social media.

This latest exchange started from a one emoji reply from O’Malley.

Garbrandt didn’t like the response, and the back-and-forth continued after that.

O’Malley, who is finishing up his camp, also managed to sneak in a jab at Garbrandt as he gave an update on his preparation for Chito Vera.

O’Malley and Garbrandt both picked up knockout wins on their last outings, which happened at the same event at UFC 250. The pair also took turns insulting each other’s technique on those specific finishes, with O’Malley posting a hilarious video trolling Garbrandt’s punch, and Cody responding to say his is “way better” and “way vicious.”

It doesn’t seem like the pair will stop trading insults and building up this rivalry any time soon, but as it stands, it doesn’t look like they’re going to be matched up just yet.
