Patrick Cummins faces Gian Villante at UFC on Fox 25 in July

A light heayweight tilt has been added to Long Island’s Fox show in the summer.

UFC on Fox 25 has its first bout. The next Fox show, scheduled for July 22nd in Long Island, NY, will play host to a light heavyweight bout between ranked fighters Gian Villante and Patrick Cummins.

Newsday was the first to report news of the bout.

Villante (15-8, 5-5 UFC) is coming off a TKO loss to Shogun Rua in Brazil last month. The three-time Fight of the Night winner has alternated losses and wins over his last six bouts overall.

Cummins (9-4, 5-4 UFC) ended a two-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision win over Jan Blachowicz earlier this month, coming off a rough first round where he was nearly finished. The previous losses came via TKO to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Glover Teixeira. This will be Cummins’ first fight back in the US in over two years – his last three all took place in Brazil.

The bout is expected to take place on the undercard of the event, which will go down in the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale.
