Patrick Cummins will return to Brazil in August.
The UFC announced that “Durkin”, who earned his last UFC win on Brazilian soil, is set to take on former Strikeforce 205-pound champion Rafael Cavalcante at the upcoming UFC 190 pay-per-view card in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 1. Combate reported the bout Friday.
Cummins (7-2), who had a three-fight winning streak recently snapped by Ovince Saint Preux with a first-round knockout, scored a dominant victory over TUF: Brazil winner Antonio Carlos Junior at UFC Fight Night 58 in Barueri, Brazil.
Cavalcante (12-5, 1 no-contest), 1-2 in the UFC, pulled from a bout with OSP in November with a shoulder injury. “Feijao” holds a first-round knockout victory over Igor Pokrajac sandwiched by losses to Ryan Bader and Thiago Silva.
UFC 190 takes place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, and features Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia for the bantamweight title in the main event. Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Stefan Struve vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Antonio Silva vs. Soa Palelei are also booked for the card.
