A lightweight bout pitting popular Malaysian actor Peter Davis (7-3) against Wes Jaya (2-1) highlighted a recent flurry of additions to the fight card of ONE FC 14, which is set to take place March 14, 2014 at Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Promotion officials also recently announced bouts between flyweights Andrew Leone vs. Shinichi Kojima and Saiful Merican vs. Khim Dima, lightweights Kotetsu Boku vs. Arnaud Lepont, and featherweights Herbert Burns vs. Harris Sarmiento.
A well-known model and actor within Malaysia, Davis holds a 4-1 record under the ONE FC banner, while former Muay Thai champion Jaya looks to make his promotional debut.
An American fighting out of Phunket Top Team, Leone (6-2) has picked up wins in six of his last seven contests, including his ONE FC debut last May. He’ll meet Kojima (13-5-5), a Japanese veteran who’ll also be looking to capitalize on a successful ONE FC debut, which ended via second-round guillotine choke in February.
Merican (2-1) is 1-1 within the ONE FC umbrella, having recently outpointed Tok Sophon, while Dima (0-1, 1 NC) will attempt for the third time to pick up his first professional win.
Boku (20-9-2), ONE FC’s former lightweight champion, looks to rebound when he takes on fellow recent Shinya Aoki victim, French submission ace Lepont (9-3).
Finally, 25-year-old Brazilian prospect Burns (2-0) hopes to build on the biggest win of his young career, a 44-second submission victory over Edward Kelly in his December ONE FC debut. He’ll battle Sarmiento (36-25), a Hawaiian veteran with more than a decade worth of experience.
The inaugural ONE FC welterweight title will be up for grabs when UFC veteran Brock Larson takes on Nobutatsu Suzuki in the night’s main event. An updated ONE FC 14 fight card can be seen below.
