Professional Fighter’s League (PFL) is giving out a total of $6 million tonight (Tues., Dec. 31, 2019) as it stages its finale event of the year from Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The first winner of the stacked event was Emiliano Sordi, who knocked out Jordan Johnson in the very first round, becoming an instant millionaire as well as winning the Light Heavyweight title.
Sordi was determined to keep the fight on the feet early on before being taken down by Johnson, who had a distinct reach advantage on the feet. After going for another takedown which was defended well by Emiliano, Johnson was the recipient of a barrage of powerful hammer fists and vicious ground-and-pound which prompted Dan Miragliota to stop the bout. Emiliano has now won five straight under the PFL banner, and improves to 22-8 overall.
