Joanna Jedrzejczyk is two weeks removed from her war with women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang at UFC 248 earlier this month and the updates on her face keep rolling in.
Jedrzejczyk, who lost to Zhang via split decision in what many consider one of the best UFC title fights of all time, sustained a massive amount of damaged just 14 days ago. The former UFC title holder was left beyond recognition as a disturbing hematoma took over her face.
One week removed from her UFC 248 battle Jedrzejczyk posted shocking images that had many combat fans wondering if the 32-year-old’s face would ever look the same. Jedrzejczyk followed that up with another social media post that saw her wearing a mud mask to cover up “many bruises.”
Now, after two weeks of recovery from the damage she sustained at the hands of Zhang, Joanna is finally looking normal(ish). The legendary women’s strawweight fighter is actually starting to look like herself. Jedrzejczyk posted the following photo to Instagram earlier today showing off her progression:
While Jedrzejczyk still has a good amount of cuts and bruises to heal up this is a great sign for the former 115-pound queen. After all, fans couldn’t even recognize her two weeks ago, which is something we’ve never said before after a Joanna Jedrzejczyk fight.
That said, damage aside, Jedrzejczyk did enough to lock down an immediate rematch with Zhang. Once she returns from her hiatus there should be another UFC title shot waiting for her.
