Two of the very best bantamweight fighters in the world are drawing closer to a showdown inside of the UFC’s Octagon, as rising contender Marlon Moraes has signed his portion of a contract to fight Jimmie Rivera at UFC on FOX 28 on Feb. 24 in Orlando, Florida.
Moraes took to social media earlier today (Sat., Jan. 6, 2018) to share a picture of the signed contract and put Rivera on notice. According to Moraes’ post (shown below), he is also willing to fight Rivera on Mar. 3 at UFC 222 if “El Terror” wishes to postpone the inevitable.
Here you go @JimmieRivera135 I signed my bout agreement. @ufc on fox. I also agreed to fight you on march 3rd choose what day you want me to beat your ass B-I-T-C-H @seanshelby @danawhite @AliAbdelaziz00 pic.twitter.com/nrU8WTjacF

Remember, these two nearly locked horns at UFC 219 last month after John Lineker, who was filling in for an injured Dominick Cruz, was forced out of his bout with Rivera due to a bad tooth, but a disagreement about weight got in the way.
As current UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw relishes in his recent knockout victory over Cody Garbrandt and works towards a potential superfight with flyweight king Demetrious Johnson, Moraes and Rivera could be in line for a No. 1 contender’s bout.
That’s unless the promotion finally decides to throw this guy into the title shot mix.
