New details of UFC’s upcoming “Fight Island” were released earlier tonight (Sat., June 27, 2020) as UFC president Dana White posted a picture of an Octagon on the beach.
With a “Fight Island” debut coming on July 11 as UFC 251 goes down from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, fight fans are gaining interest to know the features of UFC’s most recent invention. Despite White introducing the idea all the way back in April we still haven’t seen much detail about “Fight Island” or the way it will look.
Well, with two weeks left until three title fights lead UFC 251’s PPV main card, White has dropped a photo of an Octagon on the beach via Instagram. The picture can be seen above.
While White has previously confirmed that the Octagon used for live UFC events would not be on the beach this photo still gets the blood boiling. It’s more likely to be used for training purposes than actual televised action.
It’s still pretty cool and we can still count on three title fights leading the way. It includes Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns, Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway, and Petr Yan vs. Jose Aldo.
