Paddy Pimblett has no interest in keeping the Rolex watch that rapper Drake gifted the lightweight fighter following his submission win over Jordan Leavitt at UFC London earlier this year.
Pimblett, who takes on Jared Gordon later tonight (Sat., Dec. 10, 2022) at UFC 282 live on ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, was one part of a $2 million parlay that Drake hit at UFC London. Women’s flyweight contender Molly McCann was the other half and she also received a pricey Rolex timepiece.
It is unknown what McCann plans on doing with her watch, but Pimblett is already making arrangements for his. According to “Baddy,” he will auction off the Rolex watch for charity. In fact, Pimblett hasn’t even removed Drake’s gift from its box.
Following UFC 282’s ceremonial weigh ins on Friday Pimblett discussed his plans to raise some money for a better cause. Check it out in the above video player.
“To be honest the Drake Rolex is still unworn in the box,” said Pimblett. “I’m going to auction that off for me charity. I want to get some funds in for me charity and that’s the first thing I’m going to do. I’m going to auction that watch off that Drake bought me.
“No disrespect to Drake, but I know for a fact because Drake bought that watch for Paddy the Baddy that it will go for a lot more money.”
This is an admirable move for one of the fastest growing fighters in the sport today. Pimblett has been reaping serious benefits from winning three UFC fights over the past 15 months, but it’s nice to see him already giving back.
We’ll have to wait and see if Drake approves or if the rapper sends out a Rolex search party.
