McGregor, on the other hand, hasn’t fought since his 40-second blitz of Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC 246. Both men had teased of a charity bout outside of the UFC but, according to Dana White, the fight will most definetely be taking place under the UFC banner.

Poirier is currently #2 in the UFC lightweight rankings while McGregor, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ, is ranked #5.
