Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight champion, Max Holloway, will look to avenge his 2012 loss to Dustin Poirier — and capture the interim lightweight title in the process — when he battles “The Diamond” in the UFC 236 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on ESPN+ this Sat. night (April 13, 2019) inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

A lot has chanced since their first go-round. Holloway (20-3) would need a handful of bouts to grow as a fighter, but in the wake of his unanimous decision loss to Conor McGregor, something clicked and sent Holloway on a violent rampage throughout the featherweight division. The result is 13 straight wins, 10 stoppages, and a division title.

As for Poirier (24-5), he struggled to stay consistent, putting together a couple of win streaks before wasting them with an ill-timed loss. That prompted a move to lightweight, where the reinvigorated “Diamond” has remained unbeaten in his previous five fights, which includes gnarly finishes in his last three.
